Wood and Hogan offers a standard range of over 1000 various models which are sold all over the world to people who appreciate the idea, the feel and sheer quality of our furniture. However, it is the special commission works, the “custom” pieces, which allow Wood & Hogan to stand above their competition.
Our custom capabilities range from altering the size, wood or detail in a standard model to exactly duplicating a customer’s existing piece of furniture or creating an entirely new piece to meet a desired need.
Wood & Hogan works closely with design trade, architects, and interior designers, to meet the unique expectations of their discerning clientele.
Please contact Wood & Hogan to discuss your custom specifications.
Below are some samples of our custom work.
Impressive Mahogany & Gilt Breakfront Bookcase
Part of a specially commissioned suite of Georgian style furniture of the most magnificent quality, this very large breakfront bookcase in selected Mahogany was designed by Stephen Hunter to the client’s outline specification and handmade in his Norwich workshops. The piece ably demonstrates the supreme cabinet making and French polishing skills possessed by the company’s craftsmen. The oil and water gilt decoration was superbly executed by one of England’s most respected master craftsman in these exacting techniques. The interior cupboards of the upper section were lined in fine fabric to the client’s specifications.
Custom Radial Mahogany Round to Round Extending Table
Our client’s project demanded a circular dining table that could accommodate small dinner parties, as well as, very large events. This impressive 7’ diameter table, comfortably seating 10 people, is able to expand to a 15’ diameter table to accommodate over 25 guests.
Specially Commissioned Mahogany Chippendale Style Desk
A wonderful serpentine shaped Mahogany desk with fluted canted corners, solid brass pulls and a hand colored gilt tooled leather top. The craftsmanship is of the highest quality.
Spectacular Pair of Gilt Eagle Consoles
Using very large sections of selected Austrian Lime wood, the magnificent “Eagles” forming the supports of this fabulous pair of side tables were hand carved and water gilt to the highest standards using 23 1/4 carat gold leaf. This gilding extends over the whole plinth base and “Greek Key” frieze of the tables. Spectacular and highly decorative in appearance, the instructions from the client required the gold finish to have a “newly applied” patina, accentuating the fine carved detail. The client’s own marble was used for the tops when the pair of tables were ultimately installed and are thus not illustrated here.
Art Deco Inspired Stool
