Wood and Hogan Upholstery

Since 1927, and through three generations of family ownership, Wood & Hogan has been the premier supplier of the finest English traditional furniture.  With a strong dedication to quality, Wood & Hogan specializes in furniture from the early 18th century to the first quarter of the 19th century.  This period embraces English furniture design and quality from the Queen Anne period through the matchless Georgian era of Chippendale, Hepplewhite and Sheraton to the more elaborate designs of Regency England.

Faithful Reproductions

Many of the fine reproductions we offer have been faithfully copied from the original antique at one time in our possession.  Others are copies inspired by the photographs and details included in our source books of the 18th century English furniture and have been adapted to fit today’s accommodations.  Each piece is ‘Bench-made’ with one skilled craftsman, using the finest materials available, responsible for making that piece entirely.

At Wood & Hogan, attention to detail is always paramount.  This is evident in all elements, from timber selection through cabinetmaking, from veneering and inlay to woodcarving, and finally in French polishing and gilt leather tooling. Each stage demands superior skills that are beyond the ability of most manufacturers. With no assembly lines, we are not governed by the limits of mass-production.

Custom and special order work is an important part of our business.  This may only involve modifying a standard model, matching an existing piece of furniture or creating an entirely new piece.  We welcome requests to meet your special needs.

Growing Collection

Due to the fluctuating needs of the design trade, Wood & Hogan continues to add to its offerings by introducing other styles of furniture at varing price points.  Each additional collection is added because it offers great value in both design and quality.

Our expanding collection of traditional and transitional furnishings is coupled with an extensive and varied selection of complementary and unique lamps, prints, mirrors and decorative accessories. Many of these are purchased during our frequent antique buying trips where we are continually looking for that unique, decorative accessory or piece of furniture
